In this book, Daniela shares her personal story of growing up, early adulthood, motherhood, relationship lessons, her challenging emigration from Eastern Europe, so she could live her dream-life in Canada. Here, you’ll find stories from her diary, her spiritual life experiences, and her path of self-discovery, including the dreams and the disappointments we all go through in life. As you read you will find words of wisdom, courage, strength, and perseverance. What is important to her–loved ones, joy, and peace, and to complete her divine mission–is clearly messaged.

Working as a hair stylist in her studio for more than twenty years, Daniela realized her career was a stepping stone to her new life journey as an intuitive energy healer/guide. Observing many people's lives, and listening to her Divine guidance, she reconnected with her intuition; a gift she'd been born with, but had buried beneath life's busy-ness. Through years of studying and practicing yoga and meditation, her gift enhanced. She now shares the gift of intuition and the love of her heart with everyone who crosses her path looking for guidance in life. She weaves her gifts of guidance, intuition, and love into her yoga and meditation classes.

We all live our life's truth. Ultimately, there is only one truth for all of us
to realize, and that truth is divine - path of unconditional love.

Hello Daniela!
I am a member at Answers for Women.  I was fortunate to be there a few weeks ago when you spoke to the group, and even more fortunate to win your book in the draw at the end of the evening.
I am writing today to tell you how moved I was by reading your story.  The book is wonderful, and such an inspiration!
I am grateful that you were inspired to write such a personal account of your journey, as it truly helps those of us who are working our way along our own spiritual path.
In recent months I have been gathering my courage to pursue my dreams with an open heart, and I don't think it was an accident that your book would end up in my hands.
Thank you, Daniela, from a grateful heart.

Daniela’s story seems typical of so many eastern European immigrants who struggled under the hands of Communism and inept bureaucracies.
I expect that Daniela is an angel sent from Heaven to exemplify how to live in the most positive, life-affirming way. The latter part of the book impressed me the most with her life lessons and her determined choice to embrace love rather than fear.
Ms. Szasz is a superb role model for living in the present moment with gratitude.
If you are ready to relinquish expectations and control in your life, I heartily recommend Daniela’s book.

I read “My Truth, What Is Yours?” in one sitting. I related to Daniela’s dream right away and I was quickly drawn into her life story. I admired her courage and determination to make her dream come true. As Daniela recounted her emigration journey, I felt her emotions along with her; from the anxious anticipation of the planning stage, through all her triumphs and setbacks and finally to her victorious landing in Canada. I was nervous for her, excited for her, worried for her and proud of her. I am so happy Daniela never gave up on her dream. She has enriched so many lives here with her teachings, guidance, love, compassion and wisdom. Thank you, Daniela, for being a part of my life.

It was wonderful to read Daniela's book of how she overcame huge hurdles in her young adult life. It’s even more exciting to hear Daniela’s inspirational stories that have continued to happen since then. The wisdom she shares is immense. I receive a-ha moments every time I connect with her. The bond between us feels quite magical. Daniela is a true blessing!

Excerpt

Foreword by Johannes Linstead

In her first book, Daniela Szasz presents the fundamental question every spiritual seeker asks at some point: What is my truth?
What is truth? Who decides what is truth? And how do we know what is not true? Ultimately, we–ourselves–decide what is true and come to our own conclusions through experience. The more we penetrate into each experience that life presents the closer we come to discovering universal truths, ultimate truths, higher truths, and the truth of our existence in this vast Universe.
In this book, Daniela offers the reader insight into her own intriguing journey into self-discovery. She shares her hopes, fears, dreams, successes, and failures in a way the reader can empathize with, and use the wisdom she gained for their own benefit.
When reading through the pages one cannot help but feel connected to Daniela, for her struggles are our struggles, despite taking place in different times, with different people, in different lands. Her experience remains universal, as does her quest: to bring oneself closer and closer to love, compassion, contentment, inner peace, and ultimately enlightenment.
We are all on the path to enlightenment and our experiences are meant to guide us there. All the good and bad that happen to us are necessary lessons. If we are aware and pay attention to each experience then truth is revealed.
Reading this book itself is a journey. As we read, we become a part of Daniela's journey. If we read with awareness her lessons become our lessons and we can see and feel her growth become our growth as it unfolds, page by page.
I encourage you, the reader, to remain deeply aware while reading Daniela's intimate book of her life. She invites you to see through her eyes. She welcomes you into her heart. She offers you encouragement to get through your own difficulties and challenges. Take her hand, let's enjoy the journey together.

With blessings and gratitude,

Chapter One

The sixties…

My Soul decided to incarnate again and walk on this beautiful planet Earth, to experience growth through new experiences. My Soul was ready for The Contract.

Two loving, young people in their early twenties met, fell in love, then married, and planned to have a family. They wanted to share the love of their hearts with their children. They would become my parents.

It was June, a warm evening. Maria, now in her mid-twenties and mother of a two-year-old son Marian, was in labor. It was a quiet evening in a small town in Slovakia, a beautiful countryside at the feet of the Male Karpaty Mountains. It grew darker, the stars and moon hung in a clear sky waiting to welcome a new life, while Maria patiently awaited her husband, Marian, to return from work on the midnight train. Her pain grew stronger; she knew she must get to the hospital soon. Her husband arrived home and they were off. Everything happened fast. Soon after their arrival, a baby girl was born. Maria held her daughter for the first time, thinking she held the whole world in her arms. It was a joyful moment for the parents to see their baby girl for the first time.

New parents named their daughter Daniela, after Maria’s best friend in elementary school. Maria had not seen her school friend since her family moved from the town she had grown-up in. Maria’s brother emigrated, and his emigration forced his parents and siblings to move, as they were no longer wanted in their hometown. So Maria named her daughter Daniela, in remembrance of the long lost friend she once loved to spend time with, not knowing the name meant––God is my judge. She never saw her school friend Daniela again.

My Soul chose my parents to bring me into the physical world to share love and to learn life lessons within this family. The family grew and love and challenges grew with it.

I grew up with an older brother named Marian and a younger sister named Svetlana. My grandmother nicknamed my brother Berko, after her son (my uncle in Canada) Bernard. We were happy kids. My mother’s parents lived with us. My grandparents and my father worked, while my mother stayed home with us. My parents were planning to build a new house. Growing up I felt our family had everything to live a happy life, yet there were challenges. Later in life I understood three generations living together was not always easy. Everyone brings with them different beliefs and hurts from the past.

Now I understand, people hold deep love within their hearts for each other but sometimes are unable to express it. At times, pain from the past causes us to keep our hearts closed. I understand we all come here to learn different lessons and we learn through our experiences. What is important through the process of our life is to always remember the love in our heart.

Chapter Eleven

The day I will never forget…

On September 26, 1988, the sun shone on our new beginning. I took my daughter to preschool in the morning, and then went to work as though nothing out of the ordinary was planned. I was careful not to appear suspicious before leaving the soil of our home country. We still had a few hours before we could leave. I had to finish some work in the office and it was hard for me to concentrate enough to get it done. At lunchtime I left my workplace, pretending my daughter had a doctor’s appointment. It was my last day at work. I felt expansion knowing that. I picked up my daughter and went to our apartment for the last time.

Attila came and we put two suitcases in the car, some food and drinks, and with less than one thousand dollars in our pocket, we drove to the border. My daughter slept peacefully on the back seat as we drove away from our past. We were ready to cross the border. This new truth of mine felt like a dream, like a movie. It seemed only yesterday I had crossed the border into Yugoslavia, but it had been more than a year. The feelings coursing through my body were different this time. We were going, we were ready, we were driving to Austria and now we were close to the border. This time I felt certain my plan would be completed. Austria was a safe place to stay.

It was 2:15 pm, a warm sunny afternoon when we reached the border. A moment forever kept in our memory, deeply in our Souls. The border authority asked us questions, checked our luggage, and the car. We remained calm, careful; anything else could jeopardize our crossing. This magical moment had arrived, and with it came much tension. The door to Austria was a hundred meters ahead. We saw our freedom in the distance, the beginning of our new path together within view.

Twenty minutes later––not much time in the span of our lives––the authority guard let us cross. This was the moment I had envisioned since I was a teenager and dreaming about seeing the world. The moment I felt every fiber of my body, as I had never felt before. It was indescribable. Images and feelings flooded my consciousness. All my dreams would soon be replaced with reality, because we were in Austria. We were in Austria. In Austria. My eyes were wide open. And I repeated that sentence in my head...In Austria. We were speechless as we drove through the countryside. Was it real? Were we really together? It felt so different than seeing each other at work place. Amazing. It felt like going home, like we had lived together before. Hm… Suddenly, a question whispered through my mind… Will Attila stay? Attila’s paperwork allowed him five days of vacation, while mine allowed twenty. What if he decided to go back home? I could not know his choice. I felt he would not change his mind. Either way, I knew I would stay. My home was here.

While driving to Vienna, we planned to call my uncle in Canada to get information. I could not call him while I was home for information, nor could I ask through the mail. It was too great a risk as the communists were monitoring calls and mail. Vienna, the capital of Austria, was a beautiful city and not too far. We parked the car, and then bought a map of Austria so we could figure out how to get to the refugee camp, and then we made the phone call. We had to get to the camp as soon as possible, as we needed somewhere to sleep, because we did not want to spend money to stay at the hotel. We did not know what was ahead of us, so we wanted to keep the money we had. It was at least a three-hour drive to the camp and evening was already upon us, growing dark as we looked into the sky. We decided to make the drive the next morning. We found a small park and ate some food we took from home. Daniela did not ask any questions, almost as though she knew––understood what was happening. There were no tears this time. I was surprised at how she handled this escape, and happy at the same time. And totally amazed by her.

We stayed in Vienna and slept in the car at a parking lot close to the airport. Our first night in our new, temporary home, we were lucky to have a car to sleep in. The fact that we were in Austria and we were beginning our journey was everything we could imagine to have and ask for at that time. In the morning, we would take another step, totally unknown. I trusted.

Chapter Twenty-Six

September 2013 was twenty-five years since we left our home country of Slovakia, our place of birth.

Looking back, I understand why things happened the way they did. I see my past through the eyes of love. I am forever thankful to my loving husband for everything he did for us. I am thankful for being the mother to my beautiful daughter Daniela. And I am thankful for being who I am and the life I have had in Canada.

The challenges of my life did not stop when I arrived. I left behind challenges that served their purpose, while life brought me different ones. I had to learn a new language. I had to adapt to a different culture, find a job, and many other challenges that came my way. I am proud as I look back at my life, knowing all the experiences, those I liked and those I did not, made me who I am today. As my life unfolded I learned how to categorize less–not at all–what I like and do not like. I found out life is much easier that way. I learned there is not right or wrong path to live. I learned how to create more of what I prefer and accept what I have no control over. I learned to see everything through the eyes of love. I learned to take responsibility for every experience in my life without blaming others. I learned that freedom and happiness is a state of being and it does not come by moving to a different continent of the world. I came to understand that everything I experience in my life, I create for the purpose of expansion. I learned that life itself is precious and incredible no matter what is going on. I learned to forgive myself and others. To love unconditionally. I learned to speak my truth with love. I learned to be grateful for Life–the greatest teacher–for constantly bringing me back to myself, back into my heart where only Love resides. No matter what is going on in my life, I love. I am love and so are you.

I love my life and everything in it exactly the way it is. I love and accept every given moment as I take another breath knowing my true wisdom means: I am love and I have the free will to create the life I choose.
